LifeSpring Church began in 1979 when a small group of Christians began to meet together in Southcote Library Hall. At that time we were called Southcote Fellowship, but in 1984 changed our name to Prospect Community Church.
Numbers began to grow and we moved from place to place, but in 1994 a significant weekend was held when we felt we needed to put down the past and embrace the new. At that time we also changed our name to LifeSpring Church, believing that God wanted to use us to bring life and hope to those around.
The first of two other significant moments was our decision to transition to a ‘cell church’ (emphasis on small groups) in 2003. We were impacted by the pastor of a church in Colombia which had grown to more than 200,000 in the City of Bogota with 40,000 cells across the city.
As this vision took hold, our vision and faith also began to grow and in 2013 when we moved to our first ever building – ‘The Pavilion’, an old snooker hall which started off as a cinema in Oxford Road, Reading.
We have a big vision because we serve a big God!
